Hello Lufkin Road parents. This is Parry Graham writing with some brief reminders and announcements.

First, a reminder that the 8th grade semi-formal will be this Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the school cafeteria. The cost is five dollars, and all students need to bring a signed permission slip. Permission slips

Chick Fil-A night is this Wednesday at the Chick Fil-A in Apex from 5 PM to 8 PM. Come on in and support Lufkin!

Teacher Appreciation Week

The PTA would like to remind parents that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. The schedule for teacher gifts is below. Because of the HOPE games, students should bring a teacher wish list item for their elective teachers on any other day of the week - except Friday.

Monday - fun size candy bar for every teacher including aids or other staff that an individual student might work with on a regular basis.
Tuesday - wish list item for Science and Math teachers
Wednesday - thank you note, e-note, email, etc from student to every teacher including aids or other staff that an individual student might work with on a regular basis.
Thursday - wish list item for LA & SS teachers
Friday - (item moved to any other day of the week due to HOPE games) - wish list item for each elective teacher.

If track 2 students are coming back in for the HOPE games, they can bring these items all on Friday (18th) and pass them out to teachers as they see them or wait and bring them in the week they track back in.

The Apex High Dance Team and Color Guard will be holding tryouts on May 22, 23, and 24 from 3:30 p.m to 6:00 p.m at Apex High School in the band room. We are reaching out to all LRMS parents to help coordinate supplies for the HOPE Games. In preparation for the event on Friday, May 18, 2012, we are in need of certain items to be donated and others that we need to borrow. Please make sure any items that we are borrowing (tents and coolers) are labeled with your last name and your child's grade/track so we can properly return all items at the end of the day! We need all donations sent in no later than Thursday, May 17th.
