Finally, here we go! The BC Character @ Work Through Physical Education ball handling club is set to begin Thursday, October 23 at 2:30. Students should report to the gym and meet Ms. Jones soon after the 2:15 bell. Studens need to wear shorts, T-shirt, and sneakers to be physically active. Students who are tracked out and wish to return for practice should not arrive on campus prior to 2:30. Please report directly to the gym upon your arrival. On September 17, Lufkin will dedicate The Freedom Shrine. The Freedom Shrine is a wall of replicas of significant American documents, including the Preamble to the Consitution, Martin Luther King's I Have A Dream speech, John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, the account of Susan B. Anthony's trial, the Emancipation Proclamation and many others. The Freedom Shrine was donated and erected by the Swift Creek Exchange Club and is located on the second floor. Pictured on one of the nights they worked on the Freedom Shrine are Swift Creek Exchange Club members Marvin Pate, Phares Nye, Gary Stafford and Cliff Feather. Cliff has a special connection to Lufkin: granddaughter Elizabeth Feather on 6-4.
